About this tool
Pick an output format and drop any mix of PNG, JPG and WebP files, each one is redrawn and re-encoded by your browser. The tool also inspects what you dropped and suggests a smarter format when one exists, for example WebP for large PNGs that use no transparency.
For big mixed batches there is a split-by-size rule: send files over a threshold to one format and the rest to another, in a single run. Two or more results are packaged into a zip automatically, and because conversion is local, your images never travel over the network.
How it works
- Drop one or more images, they stay on your device.
- Pick your options and convert.
- Download the result; multiple files arrive as a single zip.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your own browser tab using the canvas engine your browser already has. You can open this page, switch off your internet connection and the tool keeps working.
Can I convert different files to different formats in one batch?
Yes. Turn on the split-by-size rule and files over your threshold (say 5 MB) go to one format while the rest go to another, useful for large mixed uploads where only the heavy files need WebP.
What does the smart suggestion do?
When you drop files, the tool quickly checks them on your device, and if a better format is obvious, like WebP for large PNGs with no transparency, it tells you why and offers a one-click switch. It never changes your choice on its own.
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background as JPG?
JPG has no concept of transparency, so transparent pixels have to become some color. This tool fills them with white, which is what most documents and portals expect. Convert to WebP or keep PNG if you need the transparency.
